The Bone Marrow Donor Institute is dedicated to the care, treatment and support of cancer patients and their families and funds research into better treatment methods, prevention and early detection tests for leukaemia and other forms of cancer.
The Bone Marrow Donor Institute was formed in 1989 by a group of families who had experienced first hand the devastation of having a child with leukaemia. Their mission was to form a bone marrow donor registry.
In 2008 the Fight Cancer Foundation was formed as the marketing and fundraising arm.
